Darlington Eco Fair 2026

Saturday 6 June | 11am – 4pm | Darlington Market Square

Want to find out more about living a sustainable and eco-friendly life? Come and join in the fun at the Market Square.

This event explores how you can affect the future of the world we live, work and play in.

This event has been kindly supported by the Climate Action Change Team and the Stop Smoking Hub.

With information stalls and shopping, there’s plenty to see and do, including:

  • Eco Businesses – information, sales and customer engagement to showcase your sustainable projects and services, energy saving and green initiatives, consultation, business to business and business to customer opportunities
  • Plants and growing – plant swap, growing tips, allotments and sustainable foods.
  • Local Producer Stalls – foods produced by local artisans and farmers
  • Not for Profit Organisations – interactive demonstrations, environmental information, local community groups, advise and support projects, charities and sustainability
  • Health and Well-being – meditation, yoga and well-being workshops
  • Craft and Artists – local artists and makers who create items using sustainable sources and traditional making techniques
  • Sustainable Travel and Cycling with Sustrans, Get Cycling and Bikestop
  • Beekeeping with Darlington Beekeeping Association

DEEP Network & Learn Meeting

This Network & Learn session has been specially tailored for small and medium-sized businesses, offering practical insight into the latest innovations in the Net Zero sector, and how they can can benefit SMEs.

Attendees will hear about current innovations and industry activity, explore opportunities for businesses to engage with sustainable practices, and network with like-minded organisations and professionals from across the region.

Teesside University, in partnership with the Tees Valley Combined Authority, is organising an event dedicated to exploring alternative fuels for fleet decarbonisation, highlighting hydrogen as a major opportunity.

Through expert presentations and interactive sandpit sessions, the event aims to foster collaboration, generate innovative ideas, and develop strategic projects that drive progress in the hydrogen economy.

The first ever DEEP Marketplace event will take place on Friday 21 February at the Dolphin Centre, Central Hall, 10am-noon.

It’s a free drop-in event aimed at sharing good practice and knowledge around achieving net zero targets. You can pop in at any time to browse and meet with likeminded businesses who are keen to share their expertise and experience of doing business in a more sustainable way.

You could find out about funding opportunities, grants, travel plans for your employees and much more.

DEEP’s ‘Network and Learn’ event took place on January 29 at the Hopetown historic railway attraction in Darlington.

Members heard about the sustainable elements that have been incorporated into the multi-million pound development.

Members were also given the opportunity to tour the site, which opened in 2024 ahead of the 2025 bicentennial of the Stockton & Darlington Railway.
