About TICA and TIPCHECK
The Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) is the UK’s leading trade association for specialist thermal insulation contractors and manufacturers, promoting technical excellence, skills development, and energy efficiency across the industry.
As part of its commitment to supporting decarbonisation and reducing energy waste, TICA can offer free TIPCHECK (Technical Insulation Performance Check) assessments to selected organisations. TIPCHECK is a recognised assessment methodology used to identify energy losses from uninsulated or underperforming systems and highlight opportunities for improvement.

Key Benefits of TIPCHECK

Subject to suitability, assessments may also be considered for manufacturing, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, energy and other industrial sites.
Apprenticeship and Industry Engagement
TIPCHECK projects provide an excellent opportunity to involve TICA apprentices in real-world energy efficiency assessments, giving them valuable hands-on experience alongside qualified industry professionals.
Where appropriate, completed assessments may also be developed into case studies and shared through TICA’s communications channels to promote best practice and demonstrate the benefits of thermal insulation.
Teesside University to launch Level 4 sustainability programme for North East apprentices
A new Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Professional Level 4 Apprenticeship will be available from Teesside University from May 2026.
The programme is:
- Delivered entirely online over 12 months, offering flexibility for employers and learners.
- Fully aligned with modern ESG, corporate responsibility, and sustainability practices.
- ISEP accredited, ensuring high-quality professional standards.
Application deadline is April 10, 2026 for employer-sponsored apprentices.
