Darlington Rotary ‘delighted’
to become part of DEEP

DARLINGTON Rotary has become the latest member of an environmental partnership of organisations working together to achieve Net Zero.

The Darlington Employers Environmental Partnership continues to go from strength to strength and is delighted to welcome Darlington Rotary.

President of Darlington Rotary, Iain Anderson, said Darlington Rotary had been working to improve the physical environment in the town for decades with a whole raft of projects and partnerships.

“It includes tidying up gardens and green spaces, working with schools to help educate young people as to the importance of the care of the environment, and planting to improve the look of the town,” said Iain.

“We are also part of a North East wide project called Operation Pollination which aims to encourage companies, schools and individuals to provide a corridor of wildflowers to encourage the presence of bees and other wildlife.”

Iain added that Rotary International, of which Darlington Rotary is a part, denotes ‘environment’ as one of its worldwide areas of focus and is wedded to the belief that everyone can play a part.

“We are delighted to have become a part of DEEP as we strive to improve our physical environment alongside many important organisations and companies in Darlington,” added Iain.
